The Angels Dance Squad was formed in July 2003 to provide a fun out of school activity which would help children keep fit, learn new skills and work as a team.
We started with just 9 girls and we now have 23. We train at Scopwick Village Hall on Thursdays 6.15 - 8.30pm and Sundays 5 - 8pm.
The girls learn the "art" of baton twirling as well as "pom" dance - which is a little like cheerleading but without all that unneccessary shouting! We also do Military and Flag routines.
Our uniforms are quite modern and the girls all look stunning when they are dressed up at an event.
The aim of the squad is to have fun! Whilst we had performed at several local events last year and also much larger events like the Newark Show, Heckington Show and Lincoln waterfront festival. This year will be even better with the addition of the Waddington International Airshow and we hope lots more to attend this year (see our calendar).
Angels Dance Squad is a not for profit organisation and we raise funds ourselves by holding cake stalls and quizzes as well as receiving donations for attending events and bag packing. This year even more with Treasure Hunts and Family Bingo which has raised more than £100 so far
The parents all work hard to ensure that we keep running but as with any sport it is expensive and the children keep growing!
