Ages
The following age bandings will apply for this year’s competition:
8 and under as of the 1st September 2005 (Tiny)
12 and under as of the 1st September 2005 (Juveniler)
13 and over as of the 1st September 2005 (Junior)
Dancing up is permitted, although you may only dance once in each section, i.e. if you are in Tinies and you want to dance in Junior for your duo, you may not then dance in Tiny duo.

Timings
Tiny Solo Baton and Solo Pom and Flag max 3 mins from entry to exit. You may either start on the dance floor and your time will be taken from first beat of the music to the last or you may enter and your time will be taken from first foot to last.
Tiny Duo Baton and Duo Pom and Flag max 4 mins from entry to exit. You may either start on the dance floor and your time will be taken from first beat of the music to the last or you may enter and your time will be taken from first foot to last.
Juvenile Solo Baton and Solo Pom and Flag max 4 mins from entry to exit. You may either start on the dance floor and your time will be taken from first beat of the music to the last or you may enter and your time will be taken from first foot to last.
Juvenile Duo Baton and Duo Pom and Flag max 5 mins from entry to exit. You may either start on the dance floor and your time will be taken from first beat of the music to the last or you may enter and your time will be taken from first foot to last.
Senior Solo Baton and Solo Pom and Flag max 5 mins from entry to exit. You may either st
art on the dance floor and your time will be taken from first beat of the music to the last or you may enter and your time will be taken from first foot to last.
Senior Duo Baton and Duo Pom and Flag max 6 mins from entry to exit. You may either start on the dance floor and your time will be taken from first beat of the music to the last or you may enter and your time will be taken from first foot to last.
Music
The choice of music is entirely down to you. Please ensure that it is appropriate and clearly labelled with your name, age section and dance on before handing in.
Entries
Entry cost is 1.00 per person per section and must be paid when you hand in your entry form, which must be returned completed by Thursday 4th January 2007, this will then allow us to order and purchase trophies.
Running Order
The running order will be given out at training on Thursday 11th January and not before. It will also be posted up in the hall on Saturday 20th. First dance will commence at 9.30am.
Costumes/uniforms
You may wear what ever you choose to, you may borrow your troupe uniforms and dresses if you wish. Please ensure that you have on appropriate footwear and no jewellery.
Refreshments
Tea, coffee and soft drinks will be on sale during the day for competitors and spectators. Please bring a packed lunch with you and use the bins provided
Routine Content
Routine content is down to you. Please ensure that is based on majorettes and not just dance. It is expected that there will be a variety of twirls and throws along with left handed work.
Salute
A salute is compulsory at the beginning and the end. It may be performed to music or silence. The choice is yours.
Sports woman ship
It is expected that you will respect you fellow team members whilst they are dancing. No comments will be made regarding routine content, music or costumes by anyone other than the judges. Anyone who is caught being judgemental will be disqualified
Gymnastic moves and lifts
No gymnastic moves are permitted in any of the routines (cartwheels, leap frogs, rolly polly etc) if in doubt please ask.
Awards
A minimum of 2 entries are required for a section to take place. If 2 entries only first place will be awarded. If 3 entries, first and second will be awarded. If 4 or more, first, second and third will be presented.
Awards will also be presented for: best newcomer (anyone who has joined since last July 2006), best dressed, most improved, most entertaining and majorette of the day.
Spectators
Spectators are welcome but must keep noise to a minimum. A raffle will be held during the day so please donate a prize
Drops
Dropped batons or poms will incur a 0.1 penalty. Anything else that drops to the floor will also incur the same penalty points i.e. shoes, bobbles, hair clips etc.
Equipment
No deliberate placing of the equipment on the floor is permitted unless it is to retrieve or replace a second baton or flag should you choose to twirl with two.
